Are the Oday 15 day sailor and the Spindrift One Design day sailor the same boat esscentially? Did Oday, at one time, make spindrift? I have an opportunity to buy a spindrift 15 DS but it has no rudder. Can I still purchase a rudder? Thanks Phil
From a brief look after googling, I would say they are not the same boat, nor do they appear resemble one another very much. By the looks of them, though, rudders do appear to be similar and interchangeable with a little modification. Sounds interesting. For me, it would make sense to get this spindrift and create a rudder. Even if I had to experiment with ten designs. In the meantime, you may hook up with someone who actually knows about this spindrift. Just sail, man!
