We got our new to us 1998 Oceanis 36cc in the water this last weekend and spent our first night aboard. We are so excited. So much room for the two of us. My question is regarding tuning the standing rigging. Where can I find out how much tension should be used on the back and fore stays and the shrouds. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here's a basic starting guide (chart is down the page a little, based on sizes).

It's a starting point, you'll want to still tune it a little more precisely after you get a baseline in. I usually tack up wind, adjust the lee shrouds to where they aren't flopping around, but still are a little loose, then repeat on the other tack, and go from there.

Thank you very much for the information. Although we have been sailing for a number of years, this a much larger boat than our 29.5. Lots of things to learn.. thanks again.
