removehtml]I bought the Raymarine SmartPilot S1G system pack, and want to do tha installation myself. The only thing I am unsure about is how and where to attach the linear drive to the hull/structure and to the rudder. Any guidance on this would be greatly appreciated :)Error: Error: expected [/URL], but found [/removehtml] instead[/removehtml]

Local dealer

Thanks - will try to contact him. My local dealer says that the guys working with this have it all in their heads, and there is no drawings or help - but they offer to install it though. :-| All I really need to know is if the stearn needs reinforcing to tackle the linear drive. I can see light trough the stearn - so in my mind the area would need reinforcing. I'll try to post images for future help for others :)

Contact Beneteau

I would also recommend that you contact Beneteau. Although my dealer did the autopilot installation on my 323, he left me with all of the documentation including illustrations, that came with the autopilot package. It appears that beneteau even provided the special mounting brackets and dimensional locations for the installation of the linear actuator, the location for the processor unit, and the fluxgate compass. One hint. the actuator is actually mounted upside down and port becomes starboard and starboard becomes port, so two electrical leads to the processor unit actually have to be reversed so that the rudder responds properly to the autopilot. The system works very well, it might take a little time to get the actuator to start moving during the initial installation...more or less priming the pump
