ocean trip
I currently sail a Hunter 33. There was a guy who did an ocean crossing in a 33 and his name is Louis Roig from Venezuela. He posted on the site for comments on the boat. It seemed to go well. I have crossed a big body of water previously. Not on a Hunter 33. I think with the right equipment, esp radar, the boat would handle it but timing must be good and weather well planned. It also depends on what piece of ocean and when you plan it. The 33 does not have a lot of fuel storage for light winds. So I would say if the conditions were right and you were equipped, the boat could handle it.

We lived aboard for 6 years and went to the Bahamas and Exumas.. Longest trip was from Green Turtle Cay to Charleston, SC. over 300 miles. Great time.. It was a 1993 33.5 Hunter and now we have a 1998 hunter 376 and are on our way back from Trinidad.. It is all in the weather if you want your wife to come with you..
