At our Skipper's meeting tonight plans will firm up for our cast off this Saturday to Ocean Falls, BC CA. Seven boats in all, at the latest count, will take a month to get there and a month to get back. No big hurry, but high expectations to consume lots of fresh shucked oysters and countless brewskies. Belle-Vie is ready for the adventure to take us there and back safely. This will be our fourth trip up the inside passage to the north end of Vancouver Island. I'll write a report on the highlights of our cruise upon our return late August. Terry

Hey Terry, Sounds like one of the planet's great voyages. Remember, if any of your group are yacht club members and their clubs have affiliated with my Club, they are welcome to overnight at Sidney North Saanich Yacht Club visitor dock in Tsehum Harbour. Customs check-in to Canada can be done at Van Isle Gas Dock in Tsehum or the Port of Sidney. The liquid refreshment levels may be getting a little low by then. I look forward to your report with a few pics. I will be at the Bene Rendezvous at Thetis Island this weekend acting like a pirate and scaring the hell out of the natives. Fair Winds and Tides, Pete

Hi Pete, thanks for the invite. Nice marina at...

Saanich and friendly locals. It was a few years ago that we cleared at Sidney on our way to Butchart Cove to tour the gardens. We usually clear at Poets Cove on our way north, but you never know with this group. Two of our skippers have a friend who lives at Port Browning where they stop for a lay over. We usually decide on our next port of call as we hoist anchor. I suspect we'll head up Swansons Channel after clearing Bedwell, then on to Ganges or Pirates Cove, Nanaimo, etc. Our main short term goal is to be at Lesqueti by June 30 to join the marching band and art festival gala. Such a hoot. Part of the fun of it all. Hope to see you out on the water. Terry

Ouch! Slight change in departure plans...

We've delayed a few days so the admiral can leave with me rather than doing a rendezvous. A skipper from our flotilla left yesterday and struck a rock while entering Prevost Bay on Stuart Island. Talked to him earlier and he was taking on some water, but was heading to Sidney for haul out and repairs of his 27 foot Cal Mariposa. He probably opened up the keel stub joint. Another skipper was with him at the time, but on a separate boat. Always something exciting going on and plenty for us to cuss and discuss at our daily skipper's night meetings. Terry
