Hello,
I have Oceanis 50 Family 2012 year. I would like to mount the gangway. I'm wondering where to put it and mount folding or not? Anybody has experience with it? Below I attached some pictures with different places of mounting and different type of gangways.

Hi,
we have a OC50 too.

We use a folding one, like picture B, but mounted like pricture C.

Some ideas:
the mount position depend on the pier, but dont mount it to high, because you need a step from gangway onto the boat.
Mount it like pic C;D,E the step is the big, because there is nothing to put your feet.

So we are going to remount it a little deeper, may like pic B. So you can the "randrails from the boat" to hold and put one foot on the stern.

Fix it like pic. A it is the best way to gon onboard, but how to gon into water on anchor ??

A folding one is nice, because it "catches" no wind, but rember: normaly you need two person to handle.

if you have further questions .....you are wellkome

Hi many thanks for your replay:)

What do you think to mount it on the last stair like on the pictures below?

In this position I do not have to use the folding one.

Hi,

mounting it on the first step maybe a good idea.
Rember the diffenence in high from the first step to the pier.
If it is to much, it is not comfortable, and you are not able to lift the gangway from the pier, when you leave the boat for a while. Normaly you will do so by turning the ropes up the gangway. And if the pitch is to high you can to.
So
It depends on the pier...
and so what ever you will do, it will be the wrong high.... :cussing:

Hi,
Rember the diffenence in high from the first step to the pier.
So this is why I am wondering to have two places (two holders for gangway) to mount the gangway. One place is on the last step and the second will be on the back wall (like on pictures C,D,E in the first post).

I will use the chrome hole holder (see attachment) for the last step and the chrome holder for the wall (see attachment).

Do you think it is good idea to use holders only with one point of touch? In that case I will use two more lines on both sides of gangway to keep it in the proper position.

Hi,
it can be a great idea to use 2 holder and move the gangway, but rember the weight of the gangway.

Yes you had to use 3 line, one to the mast, one to right and one to left. Right and left can be fixed at the inox tubes
Have attantion, you have to adjust the the lines to right and left, when you lift the gangway to a lower or higher angle to correct the tide.

Yes a lot in europe use single point fixing, like your pictures.
So you can adjust the tension on the "lifting line": without a foot onside: a little bit over the pier, so there are no moves between the gangway and the pier, and
if you step on the gangway: the gangway goes down to the pier, stabalize the gangway, a give a easy way to the boat.

Thanks:)

By the way, do you have some big problems with your yacht? Unfortunately I had:(

p.s. As I see you keep your yacht in Rosignano Solvey in Italy? I was there over one month in 2012.

You spend time in italy ??
I found: nice country to spend vaccation.

I cant tell you about problems. We bought the boat last summer as used boat.

At the moment, there are no problems. Only I missed a electrical wiring diagramm.
The documentation is very bad.

What are your problem ?
