My stanchions for the life lines are pretty are anchored pretty weakly, and any lateral pressure causes significant flex of the decking fiberglass. I can just see someone accidentally putting too much pressure against a lifeline or stanchion and ripping it out of the decking. (like the kids!)
What would be a good piece of backing plate to use? Plywood/marine plywood/steel/etc? Any sort of gasket between the backing plate and the underside of the deck such as a rubber sheet or simply a ton of caulking?
Any pointers would be appreciated for this project, thanks!
