NY Vega meet - C'mon folks

Tut, tut people!

I know there are some Vegas in the Northeast. Speak up!

Let's get together in the NY metro area soon-ish.

Long island sound or manahattan or liberty landing...somewhere.

Let's hear from y'all!

Thinking about it...we're located in Great South Bay, Babylon, so it's a haul. I've sailed round-long island before but it's been quite a few years since the last time. I'm currently in Phoenix and will have to see how this develops...but I'm interested.

Hey Hans,

Well we could meet up somewhere in lower ny bay, jamaica bay or some
such. That's only going to be 20 or 25 miles for you. It's more like
50 miles for me but I have to come down the Hudson anyway.
So far it's just you and me. Eh, build it and they will come.

I know of 2 other vegas in the area. One in Nyack (it's an old one
for sale and it's on the hard) but I dunno them.

I think someone took the free one in CT that was being offered on
here a while back. Anyone know who got that thing and if it's going
to be in shape for spring?

Anyone else? Speak up kids. It's a cruising yacht. Go cruising!

Hi Andy!

Wish that we could join you. Currently, our boat is in Mattapoisett, MA and we plan on moving her up to Portland, ME this spring. I am hoping to possibly get a group rendezvous together at some point in time (probably not this year as we are just learning our boat!) for those Vega owners in the Northeast (New England area). I hope the event is well attended and that everyone has a great time! These gatherings are such a great idea!

I'm near Oriental NC and am planning to get back to the Bay for the month of June.
Where are you guys?
Maybe we can get a few more Vega people interested.
St. Michaels would be interesting as well as other spots.
I am familiar with both Eastern and Western shores.
So I am open to suggestion

Hi Chesapeake area "Vega-tarians". I live in Northern Virginia and
have been interested in Vegas since they first showed up on the market
back in the 60's.

Have owned several other boats but never a Vega. Still, have been a
member of Vodca and the Vega association off and on since back in the
90's when Sid was running the newletter.

Would love to meet other "Vega" types if you make it up to Annapolis
in late June as you suggest. Maybe we might all meet for a meal and a
couple cold "pops" during the weekend.

Will continue to monitor the progress of the gathering as it firms up.

Hi All interested parties,
Did some peliminary checking in Annapolis and called a fellow at City marina just near the Eastport bridge in Eastport he is willing to have 30' slips for us @$2.00 ft. + $5.00 shore power. Did not ask about Boat US discounts??
The city dock will rent moorings at $25.00 per. There is taxi service if you don't want to dink in.
Back in the day when I came back from Bahamas I spent the summer anchored on the other side of Eastport bridge very protected. That is no longer possible unless you go further up the creek which may be an option. You can pick up a Mooring there too for $25.00 The anchorage beyond the city moorings is pretty rolly when wind is out of south(Prevailing) is not too good.
All the phone numbers for City Marina and City Dock are in Waterway Guide.
He also said the Boatyard Bar is a good watering hole ,a sailor's hangout.
Any other input appreciated.

distance of the Eastport bridge that will be open to all Vegaterians
for showers, refrigeration, eating, sleeping, just relaxing, etc.

I'm in Baltimore, just a short hop from Annapolis, and would love to
