What is the purpose of the numbers under the logo on my mainsail?Shouldn't I know this?Seth Dixon

Nothing Important

On one old boat I had the number represented the hull serial number. I think it was hull number 1579 of the catalina 25.I don't have a number on my sail and don't see any need for one. dave

If you participate in organized racing you must have identifying numbers on your main and jib sails. They are assigned by the racing authorities and are usually 5 digits long, although some are only 4. As in the previous post though, some numbers are just the hull number that the manufacturer put on the main sail.
