I'm trying to make my '83 Hunter 34 more livable, so I got a king size novaform mattress pad at costco today on sale($30 rebate)- size is right, but I'll have to trim it down. Has anyone done this? Will a box cutter do the job?
Most foam is cut with a electric carving knife. If you are not sure, you may want to just take the old stuff and the new to an upolstery shop and let them do it for you. The worst part of the job (assuming you cut the foam properly) is getting back into the package. Shops sometimes wrap it in plastic sheeting to make it slip in easier.
