The Dart is a 26 foot family friendly performance boat. It's like my Capri 22 on steroids!

I'm headed out on Sunday and I can't wait to get back onto the water. Thank goodness most of the speed boat crowd that likes to hit up the beach at the mouth of my river has called it a year due to the cooler temps.

We were in Anacortes, Washington, sailing in Fidalgo Bay. The Dart is fast and under the right conditions it will plane & take off; Jim said he's done 11 knots reaching with just the main. We were sailing hull #1. #2 is supposed to be even better! Unfortunately the wind didn't cooperate for us and the tack tick knot meter wasn't talking to the paddle wheel so I don't know how fast we actually went. It was noticeably faster than my Capri 22 under the same conditions though. I'm hoping to haul my Capri up there in the spring so we can compare the boats side-by-side, not that I can afford to upgrade. :cry:

It's a bit more than a day sailor; the interior is similar to my Capri 22, but bigger. Large V-Berth forward with 9 foot long quarter berths in the main cabin, the cooler doubles as the step from the cockpit. No galley or enclosed head, but we don't have those on our Capri 22 either.

We "made due" for a week-long cruise in the San Juans with an Origo stove, rail mount bbq, and two 5-day coolers on the Capri 22. You could easily do the same thing in the Dart and have more elbow and head room.
