Experienced seafarer and three-time Sydney to Hobart champion Peter Warner has died after his boat capsized in East Ballina.

When i saw the notification I was thinking you posted about Serge Testa... I see him as a mostly unknown aussie sailor.

I remember the story about Peter Warner and the rescue of the shipwrecked boys. I didnt know he had won the Hobart race a few times.

Most people can only hope to lead such a adventurous (good) life. RIP Peter.

I wonder if they will have a memorial in Tonga ? I know he was seriously honored there.
