...most of the time.

I don't like the cluttered look they present when they're folded back out of the way aft of the cockpit - but I do like the shade they provide when it's hot out on the lake here in Georgia.

I'm looking for an idea/design so that I can setup a temporary bimini for use under sail in a light breeze up to maybe 8 - 10 kts. One that doesen't interfere with the mainsail.

I want to be able to easily take it down, roll it up and store it on board out of sight without taking up too much room.

Any good ideas, designs, links, etc?

Thanks

Alan

Costco has something called a Sport-brella that is 8' across and covers our entire cockpit. It also has side flaps that fold down. I've had it up int 20kts and it stays put. I mounted it to the binnacle with velcro ties and it covers to the back of the cockpit from the dodger. Really does a great job for $39.00

Yes, don't like the look when folded either so we leave it up all the time. It will last about 8-10 years and then it gets replaced. Under a $100 a year not bad considering we sail all year round. I figure it protects the control panel, cockpit table and instruments from sun and rain.
