August 2nd through the 9th I am hosting our Summer Cruise to the San Juan Islands for the Kent Ranger Sailing Association and would like to invite any and all interested Hunter owners to join our cruise,(Very few of our members still own a Ranger sailboat). You don't have to be a member to come along, but you may find you would like to join after meeting some of the other sailers. I have posted the sail plan, and lots of pictures, on my web site, at the link shown below. We will launch out of Anacortes Washington on Saturday afternoon, August 2nd, spend some time in several ports including Friday Harbor and Victoria, Canada. Spend several days tracking the Orca pods that live around the San Juan Islands, (see the attached photo of an Orca, taken over my wife's shoulder). Anchor out in some of the most beautiful harbors in the U.S. and sail early and often. I will be trailering my Hunter 260, "Wandrin'Star" from Vancouver Washington and will be happy to caravan with anyone coming up I-5 from the Oregon or SW Washington area. I make this trip several times each summer and will be going whether one or twenty-one other boats show up, so don't feel concerned about the trip getting cancelled if only two of us go. I would like to see a few other trailerable Hunters make the trip. If you're worried about the size of your boat, we have sailed our 20' Ranger on this trip for ten years. The islands are perfect for this size boat. If you are interested please let me know, here or by Email, so I can get an idea if reservations will be needed at any of the harbors we will visit. This is a great experience, one to share particularly if it's your first time to the San Juans. You may Email me at: northstarsailing@attbi.com or reply here for everyone to share. Brigg

Brigg Thanks for the invitation. Unfortunately I won't be able to make it as it's a bit far to trail my 240. Sounds like a great trip. Maybe one day when I retire. Have fun. Regards David

You're welcome on my boat, David

If you can get to the Pacific NW, you and your mate are welcome to crew on Wandrin' Star with my mate and I. The 260 has plenty of room for four. I've added a picture of our cabin with friends at breakfast. It's only a couple thousand dollars (US) to make the trip. I'm going with fleet or not.

The Cruise

Brigg Thanks for the offer. Maybe I could get a job teaching sailing with you - have 30 years sailing and racing experience on small to large boats, and a teaching background. Could be a working holiday? I'll keep dreaming. David
