Large mainsail
Rigged far forward on this kind of 'catboat'.You had better learn to reef, go out with the DEEP reef in first, easliy shaken out.A Nonsuch is a great boat, fast, and easily sailed. You didn't say the year, a wishbone rig, with an aluminum spar? I'm guessing?Roomy cabin, fast and a stable yacht too. Expensive, but worth every penny.I have a 'Freedom' catboat with a carbon-fiber mast. I owned a ten-tonner schooner with wish-bones and alumimum spars similiar to the Nonesuch.Go out on a calm day with little wind, learn to reef quickly, practice a hundred times at the dock...then go on out and make your own mistakes, they ARE a forgiving boat.Good luck!
