hi again
the non skid on my Bristol 24 is shedding the old paint to PO applied here and there. Im planning to use a water power blaster tomorrow (using a less than 2000 psi, widest fan opening tip, 2' away from the deck, a very liw angle to avoid destroying tbe gelcoat/taking chunks of the deck in areas tbat is not doing well) what else guys?

Make a paste out of lye and garden lime and smear it over the paint. 5lb bag of lime and 3 cups of lye (drain-o also works) Let it dry. It will decompose the paint but not the gel coat. Then pressure wash and you will have a clean surface

Take a look at Kiwigrip non skid paint. Water based, requires little prep, very forgiving, and easy to touch up in later years. Takes a bit of practice to apply and the weather must be right, but once you get the hang of it you will get good results.
