I was washing my boat this afternoon and had a hard time scrubbing some stains on non-skid surfaces with boat soap. I think some of the stains came from bird droppings that have dried up over the winter. Any suggestions on what else I can use to take them off? Thanks!

stain removal

For non skid areas, I start with fantastic and if that does not work move to oxidation remover and if that does not do it , on off, the hull cleaner, check archives tons of advice on cleaning, good luck Mike ,

Non-Skid Cleaning & 'Polishing'

Warren, Practical Sailor (a year ago)covered Aurora Boat Scrub & Aurora Sure Step. Use the boat Scrub on the non-skid after washing all down with usul boat soap. It will clean the non-skid quite well. The Sure Step is a polish specifically for non-skid areas. It puts on a protective covering (dirt & UV), puts a 'shine' on it, and maintains original traction. I used it last year and was very satisfied. I just applied it yesterday for this season. Both are available at Boaters World. Dick Carey S/V Puffin

Stabrite Deck Cleaner

You might also try Stabrite Deck Cleaner (about $6.00 a quart) I have my boat parked next to three refineries (Anacortes WA) and have found that this stuff takes care of most anything!! All you do is wet the deck down, squirt this stuff on the deck, use a SOFT brush to scrub, wait a few minutes, then rinse it off. It not only cleans up anything that is there, but will seal the deck as well!! And, it takes only a few minutes!! Ken Cave
