I need to re-paint my cockpit floor on my Catalina 27 due to stains, etc., over the last two years. I have a gray West Marine non-skid epoxy based paint on it now. I could just re-apply that, but I hate the color. I would like some kind of blue, but all that is available is polyurethane paints that are far too glossy and have no non-skid particles in it. I could add all of that stuff to a polyurethane, but it does not wear as well cockpit floors. Does anyone know of an expoxy based or very tough floor paint that comes in some kind of blue? Many thanks.

Try Durabak

I think it's the same product that is used for rhino liner in truck beds. It comes in a variety of colors and blue is one of them. We are going to use the sand color. Check out this link

Try Interlux

Go to Yachtpaint.com and look at their products. You just may find something you like. They have deck paints, already premixed in variety of colours.

Try Teak Grated Floor

Rose, My C-30 has a very beat-up cockpit floor but I have nicely varnished teak grate floor over it. Water drains down along with dirt - it looks very pleasing too! It just lifts right out when I want to clean under it. Check out the site that specificaly sell Catalona parts (like this one) and it should fit right in. Rob

Rose, something like this

I couldn't find the color I wanted so I got a quart of white non-skid polyurathan (probably interlux) and then a quart of Epithane blue and a few onces of the synthetic sand stuff that went into the blue. Then I just added the white to the blue until it was to my liking. I had your gray and was tired of it. Into third season and see no wear.

a poor old sailor

bathroom or factory floor paint

I just ran into an experienced sailor who coated his deck with a rubbery non-skid industrial paint designed for bathroom and factory floors. He said that he'd had it for years with no problems. But it wouldn't be labeled 'marine', so you probably wouldn't pay enough for it...;)

We used Brightsides

in the spring to re-do our decks. Looks great has the right amount of grip for our liking and was dead easy to do. D.
