Has anyone had any luck painting their topside non-skid surface. I am in the process of using Interlux Brightside Polyurethane with two additives. One a non-skid compound and the other a flattening agent. I started with a primer. My problem is that the finish still has a strong gloss to it. I am looking for a flat finish. Are there any flat finish paints out there for the deck?

Did mine the same way

I did the same as you with the same paint and additives. The color of the Hunter H33 deck is Seattle Gray, and I get very little gloss. It sounds as if you didn't add enough of the flattening agent. By the way, I am on my third season and it is holding up very well. There are places that I have scratched the paint with equipment, and I will probably give it a new coat of Briteside in a year or two. Ken Palmer, S/V Liberty

Non skid

I used Brightsides as well but no flattening agent. I have absolutely no shine at all cuz (this is my theory anyway) I shook the sandy stuff on instead of adding it to the paint. If you want details, check the archives as I've recently spelled it out step by step. LaDonna
