Marine Stuff

Franklin,
I had a non marine wind gen. on my old S2, before Katrina. It did fine, and seemed to not have any problems from the salt and humidity. Of course, after Katrina snapped the mast on it, it didnt survive too well submerged for a few weeks in salt water. My understanding is that the Air X units are finished diffrerently for the marine models, but there is no difference in the seals or internals. Just the exterior finish.

That's good enough for me so I dug deeper to find something else to steer me away from it and while I was looking I saw that they did claim it was made for marine use too (the seller's claim though). The maker claimed it was only 55 dDB at 8 meters away so I looked up the new AirX and it was rated at 80 dDB so it passed the noise check, so I ordered it :)

It must have been a mis-print on the manufacture's site about it costing 4Gs because Amazon has it for $700.
