shims or stingers
Hi Ron -I've encountered many a squeaky floor on boats over the years. What you're typically hearing is movement of the boards along the edges. When this happens, friction between the adjacent boards causes a squeaking sound. Boards often are slightly warped (Beneteau is notorious for this). This can be mitigated by placing small shims on corners as necessary. In extreme cases, adding a wood stinger for support on larger boards may be necessary. Take a close look and see where the squeak is coming from to determine the correct course of action.Hope this helps!Trevor
