What is the typical problem where electric power does not reach the anchor windlass?

check the main breaker and then the breaker on the fuse panel.......after that take your tester and head to the control box for the windless.....

this is how I would start......do you have foot switches...........its all about trial and error at this piont

Look also for an in-line breaker and check the windlass relay.

I worked on a 35.5 ? last year for a broker. The windless is run by a relay under the chain locker. there was a low current line from the control switch to the relay and the power to the switch had a breaker, then a larger line (#6 or #8 wire as I recall) from the battery to the relay and on to the windless. You'll have to trace both circuits down to find the problem

It is very simple. Corrosion on the fittings that attach to the windlass. I would guess 95% of the time. Fixed that many times......get a tester and check for the power coming to the end of cables. IF you find power and I am sure you will then clean the connectors.
