Remove it from the boat, take it out in the middle of a feild , and turn a fire hose loose on it. I can not think of a job any nastier than cleaning out a holding tank
Cleaning a holding tank consists of nothing more than flushing lots and lots of fresh water through it. This can easily be accomplished by either pumping out and then sticking a hose (not the one you use to fill your water tanks!!) down the deck fitting and filling it up a couple of times...or by running a hose into the head and filling the bowl with fresh water while pumping the head fast enough to keep it moving... There's certainly no reason to scour a holding tank...just throroughly rinse it out with lots and lots of fresh water. Why do you think you need to 'clean' it??
