I just bought an H22, 1981. When I plug in the battery and throw the switches I get nothing...no lights , radio, etc.. I unscrewed the switch panel and noticed there were no fuses. Is this standard in this year? Are they hidden somewhere else? or was Hunter just cheap back then? I plan to clean all the contacts and cover w/ liquid tape...any other suggestions? I know nothing about electricity......Seth

try putting some fuses in

i would put fuses in, the circut is not complete without them.the reason there are no fuses probably is because the previous owner removed them becase they were blowing. check your manual for the proper fuse amp rating for each circut. put them in turn the switches on one at a time and check the function of whatever it is they are supposed to turn on.like this ie:running lights put the proper fuse in turn them on check to see if they are on if they are great if not check the fuse is it blown ?if it is there is a ground in the circut if the fuse is still good and the lights dont work check the bulbs.i hope this helps email me if you have troubles ill try to walk you through it OB4WD@aol.com

Question to response

C; Thank you for your response. My confusion is it looks to me like there was no place for fuses in the panel or behind...it looks like the system was designed with no fuses or I am missing somthing....looks like origional panel....?,,,,seth

Fuse holders

In my Hunter 22 the fuses were in marine fuse holders in the panel right next to the corresponding switch. The fuse holders are the little round black caps that unscrew to remove the fuse. Do you have these round black caps that look like little knobs next to the switches? When you find the fuses another thing to check especially in the 22 is corrosion on the fuse and in the holder since the panel is mounted down so low in the boat. Mine had plenty of evindence that the panel had been under water at least once. Good luck Dan

to turn on lights

Hey, I have an 81 H22 and had it for several months before I realized there was nothing wrong with any of the lights. To turn them on, you have to turn the outside of the fixture, no actual exposed switch. Also, the fuses are really easy to change, from the floor looking directly at the front of the panel, the screw cap things like the other guy said, you don't need to look behind the panel. The original has about six toggle switches.

Thank you Bobby and Dan

It seems I must have a replacement panel - a real cheap one! It has four switches and a battery meter; no fuses! Maybe I will replace and upgrade. Regarding turning the lights to turn them on - I never would have figured that one out...thank you! Wish me luck....seth
