no fuel gauge

on recently purchased '82 cat 30 do not have a fuel gauge (chkd with the PO who cfm'd)..

is that normal? can a gauge be installed?

You can install a fuel gauge.

Here is another suggestion. If you know your tank size you are good. Fill up your tank. Your boat, if you have the Universal diesel you use .5 gallons an hour. Watch your hour meter and just fill up after every 10-20 hours of use and you should be fine.

thanks.. yes will monitor the hours. universal 18HP / 20 gal tank.

Our M25, 21 HP uses 0.423 gallons per hour. Our fuel gauge has been "broken" since 1999. No big deal.
