My apparent wind indicator is not registering on my ST-50 instrument. The boat is on the hard with the mast down. I have the wind wane unplugged and want to test it at the mast step where the wires meet that go through the deck. The windvane has a 5-pin male plug. I need to know which wires go to which pin on the windvane plug. I tried removing the end of the plug on the windvane by unscrewing the allen screw near the tip and then gently pulling the end with the pins out of the socket but there is resistence and I didn't want to do damage so I stopped. Help! Thanks in advance! Ron

my wiring at mast head wrong

The correct order per notes here and from Raymarine should be clockwise from the notch at 6:00pm: y=wind speed, 7:00pm g=starboard wind direction, 10:00pm blue=port wind direction, 12:00pm shield=ground, 2:00pm r=power, 5:00pm the actual order at the masthead (thank you marina after working on it!): y blue g r shield Now comes the ?: since the connector at the top of the mast was wired wrong, given the order of the wrong wiring, could anything have become damaged at the windvane or at the display because of the wrong wiring? Could this have affected any other instruments that are on the SeaTalk and/or NMEA connected circuits (like the depth, water temp, GPS, Autohelm 4000+ ???) Groan! Thanks in advance! Ron

Reversed Polarity

Apparently you had reversed polarity on power supply, and reversed P & S on wind. I don't think this should have dammaged anything; but I could be wrong about rev. power polarity. Now that you've corrected the cionnections; does the unit power-up? This would be a good question for Raymarine. Regards & Luck!
