Just purchased a new 4 stroke nissan, 6 horse, first time in the water it was hard to start and just as hard to keep running. Also alot of vibration. Motor worked well in the tank at the dealer and was kept on a stand for a month in my garage before going in the water. Before I take it back to the dealer any idea's on what it might be, spark plug foul etc. Sure would like to find a fix rather than getting it out of the water for a 30 mile drive. Many Thanks

Air leak?

Ed: I don't know if they ran it in the tank with your fuel tank and hose, but that would be my first guess that something was different.

angles and dangles

Just bought a 4 stroke myself.First thing dealer told me was to ONLY lay it down on one particular side(handle side). If it is laid down on the other side oil will drain into the cylinder and have all kinds of disasterous consequences. In transport home is it possible it was laid down on wrong side, just a thought?
