removehtml]Gentelman, My first 285,1987 Beneteau is undergoing some remodeling and maintainence. I needed to replace the Vinal lining in the cabin and forward and aft berths due to water damage, IE: all of the vinal interior. I also need to adress the water leeks that caused the damage. I purchased the boat last year and was aware of these issues and also the issue of the bulkhead damage to the laminate close to the floor of the vessel which was decribed as rain water damage after sitting unattended for a year. Anyway, I am in the process of restorig her with new ports an lites to stop the water infiltration and also the removal of the old vinal lining which will be hopefully replaced with a new lining and foam backing.I am paying ninty dollars an hour to a man highly recommended and, I,m told, FAIR.The removal of the old vinal and foam backing appears to be labor intensive and I dont see an easier way to do this. Does this raise any red flags for you? Am I approaching this the right way? I have a feeling this could run into more than I wanted to spend.Error: Error: expected [/URL], but found [/removehtml] instead[/removehtml]

I'm doing mine myself

I have a 38' Benny that sank a few years ago. I am in the process of removing the vinyl that has completely disintegrated. I found that the best and quickest way was to pull the vinyl off then use a wire brush attached to a electric drill to take off the residue. It is a messy, thankless job. I wouldn't do it for $90.00 an hour, so I do it for free!?
