Has anybody ever installed spreader lights on a Catalina 22? What is a good alternative to light the deck at night? How difficult is it to wire lights at the spreaders or else where on the mast? Lots of questions, any answers?

You can upgrade your current light

If you want to illuminate the deck to some extent, there are versions of the mast mounted light that also shine light downward on the deck. They are available from the local marine stores. You could replace the current steaming light with this new version in order to get some light on the deck at night. Regards, Ted

Combo Masthead/Deck Lights

Ted is correct: a combination steamer/deck light works out fine. "West Marine" sells them for $50-$150 and "MainBrace" had a technical article (I think it was last winter) on how to wire them. I followed their advice this summer and replaced my steamer with a combo light and also added an anchor light. The switches at base of mast work fine. Dick
