I had to do some cabinet repair that involved cutting out wood near my diesel filler hose running from the deck. I obviously nicked the hose as I now smell diesel in the area around that hose, but I cannot visually locate the spot. It is nearly at deck level, so no fuel is actually leaking even at heel. Replacing the hose would be a major undertaking possibly requiring partial removal of the solid teak and holly sole. I want to avoid this. I wrapped the suspected section of hose with Tommy Tape, a self fusing silicone tape. I will probably do another series of wraps with the tape. Do you guys think that is sufficient? The only time the Tommy Tape comes in contact swith fuel will be when I add fuel, and that is not certain as it is a pretty straight run. Remember, the nick is so small I cannot see it, but I can smell it.
