Has anyone had an issue with the mast wiggling side to side in the mast step while there is a small space at the edges?

Pictures? Wigggling? Under load or when being raised? Base not screwed to deck, or Mast slipping on Mast step? Corrosion of mast? So many questions...

Found the problem...there was a piece of rivet that had fallen onto the base plate when we set the mast on it. Lifted the mast an inch and pulled it out. Problem fixed.
