Question for newer swing keel owners. I'm on the fence between some boat models, one of them being a C-22. I'd like the swing keel, it makes sense to me where I have to launch. have some major concerns about all that weight on a pin and the cable breaking. I've read about keel problems on older boats. Is the swing on newer models better? Any major problems with this system?? Thanks for the info Dave

Not too many problems

Hello, I don't believe there are any serious problems with the swing keels on the C22. Like everything else on the boat, the swing keel requires maintenance. The winch needs to be greased, the pins needs to be checked and the cable checked. If you replace the components when they need it, you don't need to worry about anything breaking. Good luck, Barry

No Problems

I agree with Barry. I have a 1998 C-22mkII. Just do the recommended parts replacement (e.g. keel cable) at the recommended frequency and you'll be fine. Mike.
