I have a series of blocks at the base of my mast for ... I need to add an additional for the boom vang. Every block that is there is in use, so I have to add another. Do they lock in some way or do I have to have the mast stepped and pull the plate? No, I have not gone to the store and looked at the blocks yet, i am trying to see how deep the """" I will be getting myself into before I bother having the dealer do it.

Easy fix

You can buy a comparable block and attach it using a u-bolt found at the ships store. Take a look at other boats in Hampton to get the idea.

sorry to tell you this...

but you'll have to do this on your own. You don't have to step the mast. Just go down to a sailing supply store and inspect the hardware. You'll find what you need for less than $25. Having the dealer or a rigger do something simple like this will cost you a lot more.

Thanks for the info!

Well this is a warrentee issue, and at this point I think that I will do a better job. I have to remove the end of the boom and remove everything attached to the boom. The rigid boom vang was not installed at the factory, so they shipped one out, now I have to put it in. I don't know why you say "Sorry to tell you this" but your message is a blessing in my book! Thanks again John
