Hello everyone... My name is Phill and I am looking for a good person who sails the seas to give me a hand. It might sound pathetic... but I am 18 and have met the love of my life... only problem is she lives in New Zealand. I dont have the money to buy a plane ticket and thought I might come on here to see if anyone plans on heading that way. I live in Moscow Idaho but I have my own car and can make it to a near by port. I know you all think Im trying to free load... and I am. But I have to tell you, if anyone believes in true love, its a sailor... only there loves dont have black hair and the most gorgeous green eyes... no instead its the ocean. I have to get to her... I have to ask her to marry me. To her, sailing there would be the most romantic thing that could ever possibly happen to her. We have been talking and sending letters, videos all sorts of stuff and I want her to be mine... I want to live the rest of my long life with her by my side. I can do work, I can clean the boat... I just need to get to her and I have exausted alot of my options. If someone could repost on here and let me know if anyone can help I would gladly appreciate it. I know this is a long stretch atcually finding someone nice enough to help me out, but I have to try. Phill, Sounds like you are motiviated to get to newZ. As the old song goes, "get a hair cut and get a real job". Do you plan to land on the shores of newZ to get to your true love without any money or a J-O-B? The time it takes to sail there, you could work and have enough money to pay for an airline ticket. Work on a cruise ship to get yourself there
It is a lot faster, and you can make some money while you are at it. You can be a porter, dish washer, waiter, mop floors, galley slave, whatever. Most cruisers usually take their time going someplace, and their destination may change along the way. Have fun.

If you are dead set on hitching a ride for many many months to sail there, then there are many cruising boards for you to make a posting. This site is not a cruising site. Most here are day and weekend sailors. As for the cruise ship idea...don't know of any that go from the US to New Z and back so that might not work. Just working part time you can make enough in less then two months if you cut your spending and live with your parents or somebody for free. Then you can by your ticket and be there in a matter of hours and you know she will be there. If you find a cruiser, he will stop off at many many ports on the way and you may loose your life on the way, but say you didn't, you would leave say today and be out of touch for about 4 months or more. Then you get there and find she's already seeing somebody else (your young and have a lot to learn about women). So get a job and save your money.

I doubt you'll find a free ride
Before the New Zealand immigration authorities let you into their country, you have to prove that you have enough money to be able to pay your own expenses for your temporary stay in their country. You also have to prove to them that you have a pre-paid way out of the country, i.e. an airline ticket out of the country or passage on the sailboat you entered the country in. The captain of the sailboat would have to list you as crew when entering the country. If you didn't have the funds or a way to leave the country, the immigration authorities wouldn't let the sailboat enter the country. The captain could tell them that he would be financially responsible for you during your stay and that you would leave on the sailboat when they left so they could enter the country. If you jumped ship, the captain might be forced to pay a bond for you before he would be allowed to leave port. The bond would pay for your airline ticket once you got caught by the immigration authorities and deported. Cruise lines do not allow their crewmembers to leave mid-way during a cruise. You have to sign a contract to work on a cruise ship as a crewmember and you are paid when you return to port. If you jump ship, the cruise line's local shipping agent would have to pay the bond for your airline ticket once you are caught and deported.
