new vega 27- trailer launching tabernacle set up universal m 20 repower

I just bought a 74 albin vega on a trailer and want to trailer ramp launch Any expereince out there doing this ? I know it needs a third front launch ramp wheel and block and tackle arrangement to lower down the ramp . I also am seeking info on best set up for tabernacleing the mast. third issue repowering with used M 20 16 hp kubota universal diesel Any advice on getting this engine in and working with a combi prop, or must I change shaft and prop? Thanks for the advice I am new to Vegas TIm

Hi Tim, Congratulations on the new boat. I installed a folding mast step a couple of years ago and posted a photo of it in "Tern's" photo album on this list. If you search this list for "Ballenger Spars" you should find a thread that discusses that installation. There are other arrangements, tabernacles, for lowering the mast. I think I've seen pictures of them in the VORM (Vega Owner's Repair and Maintenance manual) which is available at the American Vega Association's website. I used the folding step because it was convenient, off-the-shelf, and simple. There is a clear description of the set-up and the procedure to lower the mast in one of the most recent Vega Newsletters which you will also fine at the AVA website.
