New mainsail and genoa!

Mine were 13 years old...pinholes and blown. I love the new main! It has more wind sensory stuff and controls, also I can flatten it more which in higher winds leads to leas heeling. Can't use the genoa yet, but it seems a little intimidating...My next purchase will be a traveler...once I get the "engine" purring than I will focus on comfort stuff!

Nicro solar vent - installed in the hatch.Digital readout/in hull transducer depth sounder - readout installed in cockpit bulkhead.MSD Sanipotty - no more walking around the marina with that "funny little suitcase".New dingy motor. Two "old crusties" died last weekend the first time I tried to get out to the mooring. Both un-repairable and I'd had enough. I went to Defender and got the little air cooled 4 stroke Honda 2hp. Tried it in a barrel. Can't wait to try it on the dink.

New toy

TRC Radar with back stay mount. Last year I got caught in 10ft visibility fog as I was trying to leave LA harbor right in the shipping lane entrances behind the breakwater. It was 2 hrs of major stress. Not being able to see the breakwaters that surround the harbor, the huge silent bouys inside the harbor, and thinking any second a 1000ft container ship was going to run over me.I was so panicked I couldn't get my radio to send correctly. My cell phone only worked in certain spots. When I got it to work I called 911, they put me thru to the Coast Guard. I gave them my position on the GPS and I think they gave it to all the ships in the area. A big power boat going about 4 kts passed within 15 ft of me like a ghost. I knew he had radar so I followed not more than 10 ft behind so I wouldn't loose him. Thank God he didn't make any sudden stops and after about 20 minutes we broke out into the clear and right back at the slip I had previously left. Never Again do I want to go thru that.
