new toy - outboard tach

Tiny tach is popular but I found this hardline tack on amazon for under $30.

Needed it to set idle and left it attached as a permanent fixture. Super easy to install, no power cord (has non-replaceable internal battery) counts hours, rpm, max rum, number of starts. Pretty nice little device.

timely report as I just bought one as well...I like your location of the unit on the tiller...did you use screws for that installation?

I was just looking at these gadgets in the northern tool catalog thinking how nice it would be, to be able to set the throttle at the same rpm each time so i can calculate fuel consumption and know for future reference, how far I get to go on a gallon of gas at whatever rpm I choose to run at....

I used the double sided sticker that came with the unit but of course it failed so I intend to either screw it or use nylon ties.
