New to Vega with Combi MD6A

Is anybody out there with Combi engine?

In my Vega I have Combi engine. Looks to me like the engine RPM is about
the same in Neutral all in full FORWARD position. The boat speed is
increasing but perhaps due to more load from propeller the engine works
at the same RPM.Just works harder.

IS this NORMAL??

Hi - I was a bit worried about the way my combi worked but it sounds
like yours is like mine. I need quite a lot of movement of the
throttle lever to get the prop pitch to change to coarse and if I go
too far the engine actually slows down,,, like being in top gear
going up a hill.

I have just arrived in Kinsale (Ireland) and motored most of one of
the 2 day trip to get here and I was impressed at how the engine
performed for something that is 40 years old - got 10 knots at one
point (with help from tide!) - going to bed now - not slept for 48
hours...
