Welcome! Nice looking sailboat on your profile page. How long have you and your family been sailing? And where is Carlyle Lake?

My son and I began sailing on the Mississippi River in St. Louis about 15 years ago by crewing on class designed Lightenings and Comets. We own a Pearson 26 which is docked on the river now too. We will be selling her soon. We'll sail the Hunter on Carlyle Lake in Carlyle, IL which is about 75 miles east of St. Louis. Carlyle gives us camping, swimming and a marina and yacht club with a first class group of sailing families. It will be the perfect place to begin teaching my grandchildren to sail.

New to the site but not new to sailing ! Welcome and don't hesitate to ask questions or throw in suggestions ! With 15 years of sailing I'm sure you also have something to offer. BTW the Pearson 26 is a good and fast boat. I used to crew for races on one years ago.

Thank you for the warm welcome Claude. The weather is warming up as I write so I'm headed out to the Hunter, it's on the hard, to start hosing her off. Saling season is still at least 6 weeks away but I'm getting excited.

Thank you kloudie1. I look forward to making friends and learning from all the experiences this group has.
