oday 23 nowhere yet
My Grandpa has offered to GIVE me his 1970 something O'day 23 and trailer. It has been parked in his yard (covered) for probably 15+ years with occasional cleanings in Longview, WA.
I know little about sail boats and sailing and I'm not sure what I'll be getting into.
First I need to have the trailer tires replaced and haul it home.
I've only sailed hobycats but I have a line on sailing lessons from a family member who grew up sailing and have somewhere to park it.
I've searched around on here without much luck.
Hope to be a regular as the day gets closer! I think our family could really enjoy this on weekends here around Puget Sound.
Thanks for any input or threads.

Welcome!
There were two types of 23 made in the 70s, the venerable and highly functional pop-top and the equally handy MKII, which I believe is post 1976. I own a MKII and find it very easy and forgiving to sail, a fun boat. My guess is the earlier ones are just as good.
Lots of smart, experienced people here who know ODays inside and out. And get to know Rudy at D&R Marine, the go to guy for all things ODay.
