Hi, Our family is about to close on a waterfront home with a large dock (with dual lifts) on Smith Mountain Lake in Virginia. We are interested in a daysailer (or two to have fun with more than just one). What I need to know from this forum is: 1.) What size/class boat would be recommended for this large lake and the advent of having young grandchildren coming along who at first want to ride along then learn to sail. 2.) For those of you who know SML, are there any Hunter/Hunter Class races on SML? 3.) Does anyone deal in Hunter or other recommended brand at SML. 4.) Does anyone have a sailboad for sale at SML that would like to get in touch. Larry

at American Marine, a dealer listed here on HOW. (look under Boats for Sale, then Dealers) He's in NC now, but had a Hunter dealership in SML for many years. Lots and lots of his customers up there.
