Nice looking boat. And your blog is fun as well.... we keep the 36.7 at Pikes and the First 260 at WYC, so I know the stories well.
Where are you going to keep her? In a slip I assume... that mast is a twice-a-year task for sure.

Jackdaw, thanks! Going to keep her on a mooring on Lake Minnetonka. Well that's the plan anyway.. 
Thanks everybody, going to get going on making her my own and getting her fixed up right in the spring. Maybe the winter will be mild and I can stuff done in January....

Good call on the buoy. Shorewood is nice but you would spend over $5K to keep her there. Yikes!
A suggestion.. Do not use the trailer bow-eye for your mooring line attach point. Instead, clip your line to a looped bridle that runs thru your bow deck cleats. Those are much stronger, and the eye is not designed for lateral loads.

I just got my boat this summer. The trick for me has been to focus on functional over the fancy. New halyards before the sound system, restore teak pieces before the new gadgets, etc.
Looks like a fine vessel so we need more pictures.
The path you took, right down I-94 in Michigan took you right past my little hometown.

Congrats on finding an O'day 25, a wonderful boat and I'm sure once you get things straightened out you will be more than happy with her. Try not to get hung up in all the repair work at the expense of sailing time.
Good Choice! I purchased our OD22 Oct. 2010 and traveled the reverse route (Cuba, WI to Gibraltar, MI). Reworked many items over winter and had a blast on Lake Erie...
