Congratulations, the Capri-22's are a fast responsive boat. An 86 version is surely a fin keel boat. Too early for the wing keel option, and never offered with a swing keel. Although made by Catalina Yachts,(who purchased Capri Sailboats years ago), they are a completely different boat, and share little with their Catalina-22 sisters. Now my 2002 C-22 MK-II version shares the wing keel from the Capri-22, but hulls, rudders, rigging, and about everything else is different. Although they perform better, or should perform better, they just never caught on because of the multitude of rigging variations. However, they are very popular with the sailing schools here in San Diego. We have fond memories of our Capri-18, which by the way, share many of the Capri-22 components. In my opinion, the best production boat in their size, WAY over built, and absolutely, positively unsinkable!
