We all have to walk before we run. I just purchased a 2000 Hunter 410. My sailing experience is very limited. What switches do I turn on to activate the guages on my boat for the water level and fuel level? Thank you-- Geri

welcome to the wild world of sailing...

If your Hunter is new, your Hunter rep should be able to go through all these things with you. If you bought it used through a brokerage, they may have someone who can go through all the systems with you. Or they can recommend someone who can do this with you. What I would recommend is taking a lesson with an experienced captain who can run through all the important things.

12 volt DC & 110 AC Panel

You really need to get a hunters owners manual its tuff for a newbee without it maybe hunter can help you. The 12 volt side should list all the things you mention, there are seperate breakers for each item like, tank indicator/water preesure/v.h.f/instruments/,anything 12volt is one side of panel and the 110 when your pluged in at the dock is seperate. you really need the owners manual. nick

Manuals for Geri

Geri: Whatever you do please demand all of the individual equipment manuals that come with the boat from your dealer. Like, ac manual, microwave manual, Selden rig manual(if you have this type)etc. Believe me this information will be helpful in the future. Also, you need to send in all of the individual warranties for all of the various equipment so that you are covered. Good Luck.... Sambo

You bought a great boat!

Geri, You made a wise decision to push yourself into a boat you can grow into. We too bought a 410 after being away from sailing for 35 years. The boat has never failed to amaze me in how she performs, her comforts and good looks. The gauges you mentioned are found under a breaker found along the far left side of your panel. For the life of me I cannot say how it is written, but look for it about two thirds down. It might be Tank Levels or something similar. I would strongly suggest that the previous owner provide all the documentation that originally came with the boat. The manual come in a white loose leaf binder. There is no conceivable reason for it not to be there. It was a good suggestion to get the warranties, if they are still valid, changed into your name. Many only last for a year to three years. Check our web site for more on our boat. Best to you, John Richard, s/v Jack's Place
