New throttle cable too good.

Sometimes you have to wonder.......

I replaced the throttle and shift cables. They are really nice and smooth. Too much so in fact. The throttle cable now doesn't stay in place. When I increase the throttle, it gradually falls back to idle.

How can I correct it?

Sounds like you need a cable clamp. Part way down this page is a picture of one. Fasten it to the cable- it squeezes the cover onto the cable and makes it slide less freely- as near to the controls as possible. I moved mine from near the engine to the point where the cables enter the pedestal bottom. There's a cable brake that squeezes the cable to slow the creep.

Ah.... I thought the clamp on the pedestal was just to hold the cable. But it must also serve the purpose you guys mentioned. It must need a little tightening. As the cable worked correctly the first times I went out.
