I have an 84 '31 and I want new teak hand rails. The standard 4 loop is too short for our boat. Anybody with any luck? Thanks as always.

New ones

Like you, I couldn't find anything longer so I we bought a teak board and using the old one as a template, made new ones. Think if I had to do it again I would have 1.25" stainless rails fabricated.

Hand Rails H31-83_87

I have not replaced the hand rails on my 1987 H31, but when I do it will be the "Starboard". No teak to stain, no stainless to polish. bill

Not Long Enough

The standard 4 loops are not long enough. I am sending the ones back to Discount Marine. I thought they might be off the shelf. Oh well. Thanks for the imput. Jake

Jake: Contact H&L Marine in Rancho Domiquez. They either have what you need or will make it up. They are the OEM mfg for Catalina. We actually did as Rick recommended and had S.S. ones fabricated. They are very strong and are through bolted so you can almost lift the boat with them. There are companies that will make them from colored polyboard too. Check out Plasteak.
