Vega Friends,
I'm sorry to inflict yet another Volvo Diesel question on the group
but there you are. A few days ago my MD 6A sputtered to a halt after
running with no sign of trouble for almost three hours. I eventually
figured out the problem which caused the stoppage which turned out to
be a disconnect in the throttle linkage. That was easy enough to fix.
The mystery, however, is that I cannot turn the motor over now. It
acts as if it is seized but I'm sure it isn't. There is lots of
engine oil. No sign of over heating when it was running. Do diesels
sometimes get caught between compression strokes or something? The
starter will not budge it with the compression handle in either up or
down position nor can I move it with the crank. Is this situation
familiar to anyone? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
