I was looking for a backup boat and one that would fit on the little 100-acre lake that borders my farm. I was looking at a 15' Chrysler Mutineer but came across a Tanzer 16 that was further away but within reason. It was a long day but I came home with the boat and a great deal as well. I'm a happy camper! The pictures are from the ad. As I clean up the boat and make some changes, I'll show others.

That'll be a lot of fun. Installing some hiking straps or even a pair of trapeze wires could provide even more, it that's possible!

Hmm didn't realize Tanzer made a dinghy. Based on their keels boats that dinghy is likely a good boat

How big is that cockpit ? Big enough to sleep in ?
It would work for a much younger person but at my age, no. I live on a 100 acre lake that I can use her for just puttering around and fish on the electric motor. There are a lot of big lakes within easy driving time that I will sail her. The Catalina is for a weekend stay and a lot of easy sailing.

Thanks !

I have sailed a Wayfarer/CL 16 and they make great boats for dinghy "camping" if you have it setup so have a flat space to sleep under a boom tent.

A friend is selling his, but I hope he still has it in the fall so my wife and I can borrow it for a week long dinghy camping cruise.:dancing:

Check out Roger Barnes on youtube, if you haven't already. :waycool:

I rigged up a Minn Kota on the back of my Hunter 140 with similar intentions.
Turned out to be only slightly better than a paddle board paddle and often more trouble than its worth.
Mostly because fishing with the rig up is less than convenient and even in light air the sail in use.

In flat water I end up fishing off the paddle board.
