Where can I tap in to the plumbing to add a shore water connection to my 1985 Hunter 34, and do I need a check valve to keep the pressure from backing up into the pump and tanks? I'm looking to attach to the cold water line of the cockpit shower a PO installed in the bulkhead starboard of the pedestal.

You must install a pressure regulator in the incoming line, as the dock water pressure will blow the boat's system apart at a weak point.

if you add that to your boat you will also have to add an overboard discharge line for your hot water heater pressure relief valve and that has to be plumed with a hose that is suitable for below the water line use along with a through hull mushroom fitting and double clamp the hoses ...as far as the water tank is concerned you will need a shut off valve where the water comes out of the tank....a word of caution here ...you can sink your boat if you leave the dock water supply turned on and unattended..... theses things are not real popular ...but people do use them ...so do a little research before you start ......

woodster, didn't know what he knew or didn't know about the entire system. Thought it might help.

that is a good article and you are correct in what he may not know ...my contribution was only about the dockside water hook up ...so between the two of use he should have a set of references
as always thanks
