Our Hunter Rylacade now has a decent set of sails and the 2018 sailing season results to date reflect that.

She has a 155 Genoa, a 135 Genoa, a lightweight Code Zero, an A4 cruising Gennaker and a new A2 Gennaker.

The boat has not been rigged for a 155 Gennaker the real challenge was to sheet the boat correctly for the 155 Genoa, which flies outside of the side stays and standing rigging. To achieve the correct sail shape and sail control, I eventually settled for a soft dyneema shackle and block attached to the aft mid cleat (aft of the side stay).

The resulting improvement in performance has been amazing.

I was wondering about that. Your rig should be similar to mine which comes standard with a 110 head sail. It looks like if you wanted a larger headsail it would require the ability to sheet inside of the shrouds for close hauling. Then I noticed a deck mounted saddle inboard of the shrouds in a position where you could clip on a snap shackle and run sheets easily inboard of the shrouds without having to totally rerun the sheets. The saddle/loop? is very hearty looking and it must be intended for rigging use. Of course you could use the aft mid cleat in the same way.

The 135 Genoa will sheet inside the shrouds and when sheeted in almost touches the lower spreader. A 155 must be flown outside of the shrouds .
